The two ILCA class fleets move to their gold fleet stage with considerable place changing . . . now counting their carried forward total plus the first two gold fleet races.
In the ILCA 7 men, Britain’s Micky Beckett put his stamp on the event with a run of race wins to lead the Gold fleet (1 -7 1) with 2 pts. In second is Ireland’s Finn Lynch (2 -11 2) with 4 pts, third Elliot Hanson (-4 3 2) on 5 pts and fourth Olympic champion Matt Wearn (3 3 -6) on 6 pts.
In the ILCA 6 women, Charlotte Rose of the USA takes the lead in the gold fleet (3 -21 1) tied on 4 pts with Anna Munch (1 3 -21) of Denmark. Third is Australia’s Greta Pilkington (-19 2 3) with 5 pts. Hannah Snellgrove of Britain (7 5 -16) drops to 7th with 12 pts.

The 470 class have completed seven races. Simon Diesch and Anna Markfort of Germany lead, now tied on 23 pts with Britain’s Martin Wrigley and Bettine Harris.
Anton Dahlberg and Lovisa Lindner of Sweden are third, tied on 25 pts with Britain’s Hannah Bristow and James Taylor. Theres Dahnke and Paco Melzer of Germany are fifth on 27 pts after winning the last two races.
Racing began Sunday 19 July and continues through to the medal races Friday 24 July.
