Martijn van Muyden, of The Netherlands, has won the 2026 Open Finn European Championship in Gdynia, Poland after three final races were sailed on Saturday.
Defending champion, Valerian Lebrun, from France, won two of the three final day races to end up second with Peter Peet, also from The Netherlands, in third.
Poland’s Michał Krasodomski placed fourth overall and won the U29 Finn European Championship.
After two days of no racing, the Finn fleet finally managed to settle their European title with three final day races. At the start of the day Bas De Waal NED had an eight point lead from Michał Krasodomski POL.
By the end of the day Martijn van Muyden with a 2, 6, 7, score was top of the leaderboard, one point ahead of Valerian Lebrun FRA who had accumulated a 1, 1, 16, and Peter Peet NED was third after a 5, 3, 26 score.
Best placed British competitor was John Greenwood in 25th with Cameron Tweedle 33rd also placing 5th in the U29 event.
