Britain’s James Grummett and Rhos Hawes scored a second place in the final 49er race of qualifying to protect their overall lead.
Second are Erwan Fischer and Clément Pequin of France who never got to race at all after a Dutch boat attempting a port-tack start ran into them, injuring Fischer’s wrist. The 2024 World Champions had to retire from the day and head to the hospital. Fortunately, the jury awarded them redress for both races.
Seb Menzies and George Lee Rush NZL are third, Mikolaj Staniul and Jakub Sztorch POL 4th and Britain’s Elliott Wells and Freddie Lonsdale are 5th.
