The 26.7-metre yacht Pesa, launched in 2020, caught fire in the North Marina in the Port of Valencia, Spain on Friday morning.
According to local news reports from Agencia EFE, Port Authority of Valencia officials have revealed that the Sanlorenzo yacht’s 9,300 litre fuel tanks were not affected, and no other yacht’s or people were injured during the fire.
Agencia EFE, say that fire officials believe the fire may have been caused by a failure in the lithium batteries, causing the heat and fire to spread quickly through Pesa’s fibreglass hull.
The fuel tanks were not affected as they were docked at one of the North Marina pontoons near the boat refuelling station.
