Volvo Race - Three in battle for victory

Team AkzoNobel, Team Brunel and MAPFRE battle for final leg victory - The choice is between Volvo Race or England Match ? Well the England match is settled . . .

With the Dongfeng Race Team (Charles Caudrelier) led inshore group now over 50 nm behind the leading pack, there is still all to play for on Leg 11.

Offshore Team AkzoNobel (Simeon Tienpont) and Team Brunel (Bouwe Bekking) are swapping the lead in the final miles, with MAPFRE (Xabi Fernández) looking for a chance to pass them both.

With the wind forecast to ease significantly offshore, the dividends of the coastal route may come on the approach to the finish, if the inshore boats hold the breeze and their speed for longer.

The eyes of the sailing world will be on Scheveningen when the boats, including Dutch entries team AkzoNobel and Team Brunel, finish in the harbour after nine months of intense racing.
