Day 8 Results from the Sailing at Weymouth - The 49er and the men's and women's 470 and RS:X returned to the race course while the Match Racers take a break.

RS:X Women
In the womens RS:X Britain's Bryony Shaw won race 9, second was Patricia Freitas of Brazil and third Moana Delle of Germany. In the second and final race of the series, race 10, was won by Tuuli Petaja of Finland, second Moana Delle of Germany with third Marina Alabau of Spain. Bryony Shaw finished fifth and will be in seventh place in the medal race.

RS:X Men
Dorian Van Rijsselberge of the Netherlands won race 9 of the men's RS:X event and has also done enough to take the gold before the medal race. Second in race 9 was Ivan Pastor Lafuente of Spain with Aron Gadorfalvi of Hungary in third. Nick Dempsey finished ninth.

In RS:X race 10 the winner was Shahar Zubari of Isreal, second Nick Dempsey and third João Rodrigues of Portugal. Dempsey goes into the medal race in silver position with an 11 point lead over Toni Wilhelm of Germany.

49er
In the 49er event, Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen of Australia built on their lead with two more victories. In the first race, race 12 second were Peter Burling and Blair Tuke NZL and third Pavle Kostov and Petar Cupac CRO. Stephen Morrison and Ben Rhodes GBR finished 13th.

In race 13, second were Jesse Kirkland and Alexander Kirkland BER, and third Stephen Morrison and Ben Rhodes GBR which keeps the British pair in third overall after 13 races with two more to go before the medal race.


470 - Mills and Clark - Richard Langdon / Ocean Images

470 Women
In the women's 470 Britain's Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark have taken the overall lead after races 5 and 6. In race 5 Mills and Clark won with second, Lisa Westerhof and Lobke Berkhout NED, third Giulia Conti and Giovanna Micol of Italy.

In race 6 winners were Conti and Micol of Italy, second Agnieszka Skrzypulec and Jolanta Ogar POL and third Agnieszka Skrzypulec and Jolanta Ogar FRA. Mills and Clark were sixth to take a one point lead overall, ahead of Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie of New Zealand.
