The RYA's Powerboat Racing Manager John Puddifoot has confirmed that the Royal Yachting Association, the national body of powerboat racing in the UK, will be conducting a full and independent investigation into the incident, with the race organisers, Powerboat P1, providing full co-operation with the appointed panel. We can also advise that Powerboat racer and navigator Dan Whapples, who sustained serious injuries in a race incident in Weymouth on Sunday, is showing signs of improvement although he remains in intensive care in Southampton General Hospital. - RYA
