Solo Inland Championship - Went the day well?

The first day of the Solo class Inland Championships at Rutland Water SC finished with Andy Davis (2,1,5) leading from Mike Sims (1,18,1) with Martin Honnor (12,5,11) third.

Although Sims won two of the races, his 18th place in the second race puts him second on the leaderboard before the discard kicks in.

Davis with a more consistant scoreline has a 12 point lead.

Indeed many in the 76 strong fleet will be wondering how it all went so wrong.

Dave Winder (21,6,4) in fourth place and Shane MaCarthy (9,3,21) in fifth will be hoping that they can drop their double figure scores.

Seventh placed Innes Armstrong also had a great start to his championship with a 3 and 2 before a 30th upset his plans.

But Sunday is another day and a steadier if stronger breeze is expected, although Andy Davis will be thinking that Saturday was not so bad . . .
