Big finish for KTA Asia Tour season at Pingtan, China FULL STORY HERE

The 12/13 KTA Asia Kiteboard Tour season is about to end on a high with their return to the Island of Pingtan in China. Pingtan was the scene of that amazing event last year that saw crowds of up to 10,000 people pack the beach each day to enjoy the awesome on-water kiteboard action.

Steph Bridges takes African Kiteboarding Championship FULL STORY HERE

Britain's Steph Bridge defended her lead ahead of Erika Heineken of the USA and Katja Roose of the Netherlands on the final day of the African Kiteboarding Championships on the Red Sea. In the women’s finals, series leader Bridge had to be careful as the reigning World Course Racing Champion, Erika Heineken, was only 1 point behind her.

Kent retains Round Hayling Windsurf Title FULL STORY HERE

The 2013 Round Haying Island Race for Windsurfers was won by Rob Kent from Calshot Activity Centre, who made it a hat-trick of victories after a close tussle with Keith Atkinson. Second place went to James Moon and third to Matt Wemms. First lady was Annette Kent in fifth place overall. A cold easterly of 12 to 15 knots meant that the record was never in danger.

Day 3 at the 2013 African Course Racing Championships FULL STORY HERE

Day 3 at the 2013 African Course Racing Championships and challenging conditions delivered an impressive kiting spectacle at Soma Bay in Egypt. With winds gusting up to 32 knots, four races were held for each of the men’s and women’s fleets. In the women’s fleet, the day was set to belong to Erika Heineken of the USA, who dominated by scoring one bullet after another and closing in on the series leader Steph Bridge, GBR. Erika was in her element, as the conditions are clearly her favourite, successfully ending her day sitting only a few points behind Bridge, with Russian Elena Kalinina holding onto third.

Steph Bridge leads African Kiteboard Championship FULL STORY HERE

After day 1 of the African Kiteboarding Course Race Championship at Soma Bay, Egypt, four heats were completed in good conditions. In the women, Britain's Steph Bridge leads from Elena Kalinina of Russia and Agnieszka Bilska of Poland. World Champion Erika Heineken is in fourth. In the men's event world champion Johnny Heineken of the USA is joint leader with Riccardo Leccese of Italy. Steph tweeted . . . "Pretty happy with day 1 - still a long way 2 go & competition strong-yehaaa"

Windsurf Round Haying Island Race

Entry for the 2013 Round Haying Island Race for Windsurfers plus the Stand Up Paddle Challenge closes on Wednesday 27 March. The events, run by Hayling Island SC will take place on Friday 29 March. Racing will start from HISC and competitors sail through four gates on the course through Chichester Harbour, Langstone Harbour and Hayling Bay to complete a circuit of Hayling Island. 50 entries have been received to date. Eligible windsurfers and paddle boarders must enter on-line at hisc.co.uk by Wednesday 27 March 2013.

Swiss Storm Chase in Fohn storm

The Lake of URI is an arm of Lake Lucerne, representing an optimum nozzle for the Foehn wind in North-South direction with high cliffs. In the last few days involves a particularly extreme weather conditions, with speeds exceeding 50 knots. But you can rely also on the thermals on the area. Similar as on Lake Garda, this builds up around noon, but moves from North to South. The Lake of URI has the statistically highest wind speeds in the Switzerland.

NeilPryde Windsurf Racing for Extreme Sailing Series FULL STORY HERE

The NeilPryde Windsurf Racing Series returns to the Extreme Sailing Series global circuit with Act 2 taking place in the heart of Singapore in less then three weeks. The windsurf series is the main warm-up Act to the Extreme 40 racing, with world class windsurfers including former RS:X World Champion and Olympic silver medallist Julien Bontemps from France and British Olympic bronze medallist Bryony Shaw amongst the world class windsurfers who graced the role call.
