Day 1 at Medemblik Regatta

 
The British Sailing Team RS:X windsurfers are concentrating on the Medemblik Regatta

First day of racing was done in difficult conditions. Light winds caused some delay, but at the end all scheduled races were sailed.

And on day 1, Emma Wilson took a race win in RS:X race 2 which with a 10, 7, puts her fifth overall.

Bryony Shaw (9,16,9) is down in tenth and Saskia Sills started with a BFD but added a couple of sixth places to place15th overall.

Poland's Maja Dziarnowska (7,3,1) is tied for the women's RS:X lead with Zofia Noceti Klepacka POL (3,4,4), and in third place Russia's Stefania Elfutina (2,2,8).

In the men's RS:X, Kieran Holmes-Martin won his opening race, but then a 5 and 4 put him back in fifth overall for the day.

Yoav Cohen ISR (1,3,1) finished the day tied on five points for the lead with Maciej Kluszcynski POL (2,2,1). In third place is Sebastian Fleisher DEN (3,1,2) and fourth is Mattia Camboni ITA (4,2,3).

In the Nacra17, Spain's Fernando Echavarri and Tara Pacheco (2,1,1) lead by three points from Gemma Jones and Jason Saunders NZL (1,3,3), with Britain's John Gimson and Anna Burnet (5,2,2) in third place.

The women's 49erFX is another event with GBR presence, Charlotte Dobson and Saskia Tidey (2,2,3) in third place after two races. Megan Brickwood and Eleanor Aldridge (BFD,7,8) are 12th.

49erFX Leaders are Holland's Annemiek Bekkering and Annette Duetz (3,1,1) and Dewi Couvert and Jeske Kisters (1,3,2).

In the men's 49er, Lucas Rual and Emile Amoros of France opened their series with three back-to-back wins.

Yago and Klaus Lange ARG place second with 3,1,3 and in third place are Jonas Warrer and Jakob Precht DEN (2,24).

In the men's Laser, after two races Elliot Hanson GBR 6,1) leads from Yuri Hummel NED (1,9).

In the women's Radial, Maxime Jonker NED (1,1) leads.

Fabien Pianzza of France leads the RS:X U19 series after a hat-trick of wins.
