America's Dean Barker confirmed his lead in the Congressional Cup Round Robin stage, hosted by Long Beach YC.Ian Williams GBR -

Barker won four more matches, only losing to Eric Monnin of Switzerland. Sam Gilmour of Australia won three more matches to take second place.

Britain's Ian Williams recovered from 3-2 to finish the day 6-5 and tied with Johnie Berntsson (SWE) and Taylor Canfield (USA) in third place, there are seven races remaining in the Round Robins.

As the breeze rocketed up to 18 knots, there were wipe-outs, collisions and protests galore.

And Harry Price (AUS) proved how close race action is to the audience on the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier; when his boat knocked a lamppost off the corner of the wharf. (See video 53 sec)

Berntsson’s Catalina 37 was so damaged during contact in his match with Barker, it began to take on water; they transferred to the backup boat.
