Meanwhile, Vestas 11th Hour Racing has now arrived in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands, after dismasting on Friday.

An easterly-moving front swept across the back of the fleet first, allowing Dongfeng and AkzoNobel to turn towards the north (and the finish in Itajaí, Brazil) much sooner than leader Brunel.

But, at the 19:00 UTC report Sunday, Brunel and Dongfeng were sailing at 22 knots compared with less than 8 knots for the other three, rapidly increasing their lead.

Turn the Tide have fixed their spreader alignment problem and have full main up again.
