The result was a 2 - 0 win for the British team.

GBR: Gareth Caldwell, Alister Warren and Robin Wood.

USA: Todd Twig, Chris Maas and Willy Clark.

The Trophy/Cup is believed to be the second oldest (after the America's Cup) international trophy in sailing that is still in active competition.

First recorded competition was in 1886 at Staten Island, New York, won by America. It was not won by Britain until 1933 (Uffa Fox and Roger De Quincey).
