8mR World Championship - Miss U is overall winner

The final day of the 8mR World Championship in Hanko, Norway, provided fresh winds of up to 20 knots.

Avia Willment GBR sailing Miss U was the overall winner, ahead of Werner Deuring AUT, who was the winner of the 'SIRA' rankings for yachts built before 1960.

Lars Ingeberg NOR was third, Terry McLaughlin CAN fourth, Tom Knutsen NOR fifth and HM King Harald of Norway (age 80) finished sixth - all Sira class.

Winner of the Neptune class was Angelo Mazzarella SUI and of the gaff rigged Neptune class Andi Lochbrunner GER.
