Thomson extends Vendee Globe lead

Alex Thomson on Hugo Boss continues to extend his lead in the Vendee Globe, adding almost 30 nm to his advantage as he hit speeds of 24 knots overnight.

Thomson now has a lead of 130 nm over second placed Armel Le Cléac’h on Banque Populaire VIII, with Sebastien Josse on Edmond de Rothchild in third place.

Only one place change overnight in the leading pack, Jean-Pierre Dick on StMichel-Virbac moves into ninth place ahead of Jean Le Cam on Finistere Mer Vent.
