The clocks go back - Its time for the Draycote Dash

Winter really is here when the clocks go back and the Draycote Dash PR lands in my mail box.505 Tom Gillard & Andy Couch -

My days of battling up and down Fareham creek in their Frostbite series wearing a home-made wet suit are long past, but if you fancy a blast round Draycote water then Fernhurst Books Draycote Dash would love to see you.

Last year the 130 entry limit was all but reached despite a pretty appalling forecast and weather on the Saturday.

This year entry can only be made online in advance and the entry closing date is Sunday 13h November – And they assure me that entries are filling up fast.

The Draycote Dash on the 19/20 November, consists of four back-to-back average lap races on the Saturday (first start 11am) and one 120-minute pursuit race on the Sunday.

If sailed, the pursuit race has to count in your score, but is not double points as in previous years.

The winner will take away probably the most expensive sailing book ever published:

Bob Fisher’s heavyweight tomb on the history of the America’s Cup: An Absorbing Interest which retails at a mere £250!

Enter online here: Fernhurst Books Draycote Dash by the 13 November 2016.
