Sailing Champions League Finals day 1 cancelled

Racing on the first day of the final of the Sailing Champions League was cancelled Friday due to a total lack of wind on the regatta course off Porto Cervo.

The finals beginning from Saturday will be broadcast live.

The event, organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, is taking place from 23 to 25 September and plays host to teams representing 32 of Europe’s top yacht clubs from 13 nations.

Racing is scheduled to continue Saturday, with a maximum of 48 races in programme over the next two days, and defending champions the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club are ready for the challenge.

Following their win at the National Sailing League finals, Team HISC, consisting of Imogen Stanley, Paul Childs, Chris O’Neill and Chris Witty, are representing Britain at the Sailing Champions League Finals.
