Sailing World Cup Qingdao - Day 1

The first day of the World Sailing Cup in Qingdao served up exactly what some sailors were expecting with a light wind day one.

In the Laser event, Croatia's Tonci Stipanovic took the overall lead with a 1, 3, to lead from Britain's Lorenzo Brando Chiavarini in second with a 7, 1.

Third is Finn Lynch of Ireland with a 2, 8.

In the Radial, China's Dongshuang Zhang won both races and leads from compatriot Rubei Yuan with 3, 2. Monika Mikkola of Finland is third with 2, 4.

The men's 470 is led by Hao Lan and Chao Wang (CHN) with a first and second. Liangdao Weng and Youjian Wen (CHN) are second with a 1, 4.

In the women's 470, China's Mengxi Wei and Yani Xu sit top with two points. In second are Shengnan Ni and Lizhu Huang (CHN) with a 3, 4.

The Finn is an all China event with Lei Gong (2, 1) leading from Xin Li (4, 2).

In the men's RS:X the Chinese fleet is led by Chunzhuang Liu (3, 1, 1) with second Bing Ye (2, 3, 2).

The women's RS:X is led by Manjia Zheng (UFD, 1, 1) with second Hongmei Shi (2, 2, 2).
