Day 2 at Mallorca Training Camp Regatta

Day 2 of the Training Camp Regatta at El Arenal, Mallorca and the new GBR 470 pairing of Luke Patience and Joe Glanfield move into the overall lead after dropping their ninth from day 1 and racking up a couple more second places. They lead from Spain's Onan Barreiros and Juan Curbelo who have two race wins. In the women's 470 event, GBR's Sophie Weguelin and Ellidh Mcintyre move to seond overall after winning race 5. Afrodite Kyranakou and Anneloes Van Veen of the Netherlands have a four point lead.

Alex Mills had a better day in the Radial moving to fifth overall, Jack Wetherell is in eighth. Jesus Rogel of Spain leads from Philipp Buhl of Germany.

The new GBR 49er pairing of Stuart Bithell and Chris Grube made some improvement with a couple of 12th place finishes. Best placed GBR sailors are Dave Evans and Ed Powys in fifth and John Pink and Simon Wheeler in sixth overall. Diego Botin and Pablo Turrado of Spain lead from Lukasz Przybytek and Pawel Kolodzinski of poland.

In the FX skiff Penny Clark and Nicola Groves have had mixed results and hold fifth place overall, 18 points off the run away leaders, Ida Marie Baad and Marie Thusgaard of Denmark. None of the other GBR crews are competing.

No GBR crews in the Nacra 17 or Finn racing. In the Nacra, Mandy Mulder and Thijs Visser of the Netherlands now have the lead from Renee Groeneveld and Karel Begemann. In the Finn, Jonathan Lobert of France leads from Dutchman Jan Postma.
