Day 3 of the Miami ISAF World Cup

We are at day 3 of the Miami ISAF World Cup and the trial scoring system continues to baffle . . . Interestingly, in the Laser event the scores have changed to give the race winners "0" instead of the "1" that they had after day 2 - did they not read their own sailing instructions or is this intended to happen at this point? Obviously I need to study the SI again . . .

The GBR competitors are staying in touch, if not setting the pace. Bryony Shaw moved into second in the women's RS:X event, just one point off the leader, Demita Vega of Mexico. In the men's RS:X flying dutchman Dorian van Rijssbelberghe added another two victories to extend his lead, Nick Dempsey stays in third. Megan Pasco is now third in the 2.4mR and tied on points with second placed Allan Leibel of Canada, Bruce Millar of Canada leads.

With the enhanced scoring for winning, Jesper Stalheim of Sweden takes the lead in the men's Laser, on equal points with Bruno Fontes of Brazil as they go into gold and silver fleets.

In the Radial fleet, Ireland's Annalise Murphy is now clear leader and Page Railey, USA, moves into second. Note: the Radial have used the "0" score from the start!

New leaders in the women's 49erFX are Martine Soffiatti and Kahena Kunze of Brazil. In the men's 49er no change in the top three, Strammer and Brown of the USA leading by nine points.

In the mixed crew Nacra 17 the USA now hold the top three spots, with Sarah Newberry and John Casey leading by four points. Caleb Paine, USA, keeps his lead in the Finn event, from Brenden Casey of Australia and Jorge Zarif of Brazil.
