Le Cam and Golding battle for fourth in Vendee

There is just more than 50 miles between Jean Le Cam (SynerCiel) and Mike Golding (Gamesa) this morning. This morning as the British skipper has caught up some 10 miles or so since yesterday, but both are anticipating a slow down as they work through a wider band of light winds. In fact Le Cam on SynerCiel has been first to slow and Golding told his team this morning that his breeze was starting to slacken off. Le Cam is expecting to be finishing in Les Sables on the 5th February, and Golding – on current positioning – should be a matter of hours behind.

A sleep deprived Jean-Pierre Dick (Virbac Paprec 3) has found shelter along the Galician coast, in the mining port of San Ciprián (San Cibrao). Jean-Pierre Dick remains safe in his haven on the north Spanish coast, waiting for the worst of the Biscay winds to subside.
