No show for GBR in ISAF World Rankings

The latest ISAF World Sailing Rankings for 2013 have been released and have little interest for Team GBR sailors as the events added are the Australian and USA world cup regattas that had little involvement for the Brits. The upcoming Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia Mapfre from 30 March to 6 April will be the first major event of the European season and will include the two new Olympic classes, the mixed crew Nacra 17 and the women's new 49erFX skiff.

These two new Olympic classes appear in the ranking for the first time with Sarah Newberry and John Casey of the USA leading the Nacra 17 after one event (Miami) and Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze of Brazil the 49erFX after two events - winning both Miami and the N.American championships. The Spanish world cup will be the first event to see any Team GBR involvement in these classes.

Four GBR crews are entered in the Nacra17 event and four in the 49erFX event to date. A lot of familiar names in unfamiliar combinations that look to make the new events the most interesting as they get to grips with their new boats.
