Star return to UK waters for winter championship

Despite the success of British sailors at Olympic level - 2 gold and 2 silver in the last seven Olympics - the International Star class has always been an endangered species on home waters. The image is of Graham and Phillip Bailey racing at the recent Nice Star Christmas races, and to see more local Star action get along to the Royal Victoria Docks, outside the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show on Friday 18 through Sunday 20 January, when ten Star class keelboats will race for the CNM Estates UK Star Championships.

More than 18 renowned Olympic and World champion sailors, boasting up to 10 Olympic medals among them will be taking part in the regatta including triple Olympic medallist Iain Percy, double Olympic medallist Andrew Simpson and Olympic medallists Pippa Wilson, Ian Walker, Mark Covell, Michael McIntyre and Bryn Vaile.
