British sailor David Labrouche is in the lead of the 24th edition of the International Vila de Palamós Optimist Trophy after the three races sailed Friday. Second Marcelo Cairo from Spain and third Scipio Scipio of the Netherlands.
The 470 entries have sailed in four groups and completed the three races scheduled with strong North wind up to 25 knots in the morning dropping to 15 knots in the afternoon. Lack of wind cancelled racing Saturday which should have been a qualifying day with the top 120 will sail in the Gold group on Sunday.
