Solo Nationals at HISC expect 100+ entries

The fifty year old Solo class still manage to build 100 new boats a year and in 2013 hope to see a 100+ entry at their Nationals - Hayling Island SC from the 13 to 19 July.

This is the first visit by the Solo class championship to the Hayling Island club since 1983, in total this will be the seventh Solo national championship to be held at HISC. The first was in 1959 (the 2nd ever held) won by Bill Claydon, then Alec Stone made a habit of winning at Hayling in '61, '67 and '71. In 1975 Graham Tapper was the winner and then in '83 Geoff Carveth won the second of his eight titles . . . With the large home fleet we could see over 100 boats on the start line again.
