Also at Grafham Water SC for the RS Inland Championships were the RS100s. Nine RS100s from as far as South Devon and North Wales made it to the start line in the face of a pitiful forecast for 0 – 3 knots of breeze for the weekend. Like the other RS classes they managed three races on Saturday and just one on Sunday.
Surprising most of the 100 fleet, the Race Office sent the fleet afloat on Sunday in a dying breeze. Lap 2 of Race 4 was ‘raced’ in almost zero breeze with boats barely moving through the water. Chris Larr from Northampton SC managed a second place behind Andrew Wilson of Datchet Water SC to be crowned 2012 RS100 Inland Champion. Alex Morrison of Leigh and Lowton SC took third overall behind Wilson.
