The World Sailing Speed Record Council has Ratified the new World 10 Sq m/Windsurfer Division Women's Record set by Britain's Zara Davis on the 17 November 2012 at Luderitz, Namibia.
Using a Mistral 41 board and Simmer Sail 5.5 SCR, Davis set a new speed of 45.83 kts, beating the previous record of Karin Yaggi of Switzerland set in 2005. Davis broke the record on four occasions over three days of attempts.
The WSSR Council also ratified the World 10 Sq m/Windsurfer Division outright record of 52.05 kts set by Antoine Albeau of France at the same venue.
