Miracles do happen - America's Cup all square

When they were 8 to 1 down and just one race away from defeat, no one would have put money on Oracle Team USA winning another race, let alone winning seven while Emirates Team New Zealand failed to win a single race.Yesterday it finally looked like Dean Barker had his chance. Away in the leeward position, ETNZ led at the first mark - and this has been the key to winning - but Oracle showed they have not only had the better start technique, they have raw speed and rolled past ETNZ mid-way down leg three and sailed away.

“It’s clear to see they were going pretty damn well,” said Barker. “It was the first time that we recognized there was a condition where maybe we aren’t as strong as we need to be. It’s tough. We’re doing all we can, the guys never gave up, but clearly the Oracle guys were going well in that stuff.”

So, it all comes down to Race 19, the winner takes the America's Cup. The start is scheduled for Wednesday at 21:15 UK time. In the USA the America’s Cup Finals will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network. In the UK it will be available on the America’s Cup YouTube channel
